National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced training of the 2nd phase for Youth Transformation Training Scheme (YTTS) of 50 unemployed youths under Vocational Skills Development Department (VSD) in Niger state.
The agency Director General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo made this known during the opening ceremony in Minna, saying that the scheme is aimed at curbing unemployment in Nigeria through training and skills acquisition to be self employed and reliant.
Represented by the state Coordinator, Alhaji Mohammed Dantsoho Abubakar said that the 50 participants were selected from across the 25 local government areas of the state.
He noted that they are to be trained in computer software, computer repairs and installations through their master trainers who are to sign their log books to ensure their commitment so as to get their benefits due to them as stipends and possible loans.
He urged participants to pay attention to acquire the knowledge and make proper use of their skills for their benefit and that of the society hence they most pay proper attention to be employers of labour and better citizens.
Director VSD Headquarters represented by the deputy director, Obinna Ofia called on the selected participants to pay the required attention, be law abiding and ensure they acquire the knowledge and make judicious use of the skills they will learn to the benefit of the society in general.
