Mayo Selbe, in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, has been wrecked by the flood disaster.
Peoples Daily reports that, property, animals, and farm crops worth millions of naira has been carried away by the flood.
The Chief of Mayo Selbe HRH. Kum Thomas Maiyanga Shaibu told our correspondent that the disaster followed a downpour that lasted for over seven hours.
The traditional ruler appealed to both state and federal Government to assist the with relief materials to alleviate the harsh effect by the disaster.
“The Fridays downfall in Mayo Selbe in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State resulted in to s flood disaster which destroyed residence, farm land, and other goods and services of the local people.
“This is the first time the area is witnessing such natural disaster which also led to the collapse of a bridge within the town.” He said.
Peoples daily also reports that, Taraba State is among the nine states that were issued a flood alert by both State and federal government two months ago.
