Lapai Emirate Development Foundation (LEDEF) of Niger state has said that plans are underway to commence activities towards the foundation’s N5 Billion appeal fund raising in order to fast track the development of the entire area.
The Chairman Central Working Committee of the foundation, Alhaji Abubakar Kuso made this known during a press conference to intimate the public about its preparedness in Minna, hence to bridge the gap in areas that required attention.
The retired Deputy Controller General of Immigration and district Head of Gulu stated that they are not in competition but aspired to play at complementary role to government programs and activities.
He revealed that the funds realized from the appeal fund raising to be channeled in to facilitating economic and human capital development, poverty reduction, education, agricultural and security enhancement, health and social transformation as well as public and advocacy awareness including investment in income generating ventures to ensure its financial stability.
Alhaji Kuso reiterated the commitment of the foundation in ensuring various interventions but has been constraint due to paucity of funds hence the plan for fund raising to achieve more successes.
He explained that the organization has achieved a lot since its formation in 2009 which include; donation of funds and food items to flood and clash victims in various communities, scholarship programs, provision of education materials, training of vigilantes, donation to hospital equipment, renovation of schools among others.
