The Senate on Wednesday unveiled Senator Oyelola Ashiru (APC, Kwara South) as the Deputy Leader of the Senate to replace to works minister senator Dave Umahi.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this at plenary.
The Senate also announced Senator Nwebonyi Onyeka as the new Deputy Chief Whip.
Ashiru, who was hitherto the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, was elevated to the position of deputy leader of the Senate.
Senate therefore proceeded on its retreat to Akwa Ibom to reconvene plenary next week.
