Oluremi Tinubu inaugurates women empowerment group in Jigawa

The first lady of the federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Ahmed Tinubu on Friday inaugurated Jigawa state chapter of an empowerment group known as No Woman, No Nation (NWNN).
The first lady, who was represented by the chairman of the organization, Ambassador Akintola Olubasayo, said the organization is under the better Nigeria programmes through the office of first lady to 36 states across the country.
She explained that, the programmes intended to empower millions of women as well as to be voice of the voiceless women across the 36 states of Nigeria.
“Today, we inaugurated the Jigawa chapter of No women No Nation under the leadership of Hajiya Zainab Mohammed Pawa as state coordinator with aims to lift over 5,000 women out of poverty in Jigawa state”, she said.
While delivering her speech, the Jigawa state coordinator of NWNN Hajiya Zainab Mohammed Pawa said the Organization is none religion, partisan and none profitable, which membership include all categories of Nigerian Women like politicians, civil servant, market women and full house wives.
Pawa identified the objectives of NWNN as women Organization, women entrepreneurs, Youth development, women empowerment and assisting of widows and orphans.
According to her, the programme will also empower women economically and health wise through education, health, Agriculture and poverty alleviation programs.
The state coordinator added that, the Organization has leadership structure that covers all 36 states and FCT and also across 774 local government areas.
She then appreciated the state governor, Malam Umar Namadi and good people of Jigawa for the support been provided to the association.
