The Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary (SGF/PS), Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs Beatrice Jedy-Agba, has reiterated her unwavering commitment to fostering strong partnerships and collaborations with Hague Institute for Innovation and Law (HiiL) for improved access to justice in Nigeria.
Jedy-Agba made this pledge recently during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Hague Institute for Innovation and Law (HiiL), at her office.
Speaking at the occasion, she commended the passion and zeal demonstrated by the visiting team, led by Dr. Sam Muller, Chief Executive Officer of the Hauge Institute for Innovation and Law, towards enhancing the access to justice in the country, with a people-centered justice approach.
She lauded the remarkable progress achieved in Nigeria by the visiting delegation of HiiL and expressed her commitment to sustaining the collaboration which the Federal Ministry of Justice has built with the Hague Institute for Innovation and Law through cooperation that create innovative solutions that enhance easy and affordable access to justice for all.
The HiiL methodology of people-centered justice approach is the innovation in justice delivery strategy being implemented already in Nigeria.
Dr. Sam Muller, Chief Executive Officer of the HIIL, expressed his gratitude to the SGF, for the warm reception accorded to the visiting delegation.
Specifically, he highlighted that Nigeria, through the support of the Federal Ministry of Justice, has made remarkable achievement in creating access to justice, noting that a lot still need to be done towards making people-centred justice happen in Nigeria.
Dr. Muller, therefore, emphasized the need for increased collaboration and partnership in delivering People-Centered Justice in Nigeria by both the Institute and the Office of the Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary by focusing on citizens’ needs and leveraging innovative solutions for transformative and inclusive outcomes.
The highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of the Justice Needs and Satisfaction (JNS) report by Dr. Sam Muller to the Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Justice to the admiration of the Directors, Staff members, and members of the visiting delegation.
