Benue State Community Voluteer Guards have apprehended dare devil armed robbers operating along Okpokwu-Ogbadibo road.
Those arrested include, Audu Godwin also known as Hazard, Sunday Destiny and Ameh John also known as ‘Aboki’.
Report from the area indicated that on the 29th November, 2023 at about 08:45 hour, the Guards were on patrol along Odoba hill and got information that armed robbers were operating along the boundary between Okpokwu and Ogbadibo.
They had concluded operation but the team went after them and were able to apprehend and handed them over to the Police.
Speaking to newsmen, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources Hon Odoh Ugwu who hails from Ogbadibo local government area commended the BCVG for their bravery in tackling insecurity in the area.
Odo said, “the role of the members of the BCVG under the present leadership of Austine Enejor has made tremendous successes and need to be commended”.
Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Security and Internal Affairs, Chief Joseph Har confirmed the story saying “I can confirm the good work that members of the BCVG are doing since the transfer and replacement of the former Zonal Commander.
