Prof. Owolabi tasks students to develop interest in IOT

A Director in charge of the Centre of Competence in Digital Education (C-CODE) at the University of Abuja, Prof. Olumide Owolabi, has urged the students to deem it necessary to develop interest in the Internet Of Things (IOT) so as to get access to different devices.
Owolabi, wo stated this in an interview with newsmen during a one-day Hackathon training for the students tagged: “Technological Innovations and Educational Development” which took place at the permanent site of the University.
He said the purpose of the training was to expose the students to possibilities that exist in the field of IOT, adding that IOT is one of the most current areas in digital innovation.
He then advised the students to make use of the knowledge they have acquired during the training to develop their own IOT devices or innovations for the better of the society.
He said he would continue to train the students on the Interne of Things for the sake of technological advancement.
Owolabi, who is a professor of Computer Science, however, called on the government at all levels as well as the philanthropic organisations to support the Centre financially to actualize his dreams for the students.
