The Coalition of Civil Society Networks has implored the All Progressives Congress (APC), to compensate Sen. Ibrahim Danbaba Dambuwa, who lost the Sokoto South Senatorial District in legal battle to Aminu Tambuwal.
A Court of Appeal had upheld the electoral victory of Tambuwal who served as Governor of Sokoto State.
The Coalition National Coordinator, Ahmed Bello, at a press conference yesterday in Abuja, claimed that the judgement was a miscarriage of justice.
Regardless of the outcome, Bello told the APC to engage in what he called “a thorough soul-searching exercise and adequately compensate Sen. Danbaba for his sacrificial relinquishment of his seat.”
“We strongly suspect sabotage at play, leading to a compromise allegedly reached at highest level of political and Judicial intrigues.
“Decisions of this nature, taken at the expense of loyal and dedicated party stalwarts, will undoubtedly have severe repercussions for the APC.
“We urge the APC to engage in a thorough soul-searching exercise and adequately compensate Sen. Danbaba for his sacrificial relinquishment of his seat.
“In conclusion, we call on the APC leadership to reevaluate their strategies, reaffirm their commitment to justice, and uphold the principles of fairness and loyalty within the party. Our future as a strong and united party depends on these crucial actions.”
