Oshiomhole to supervise demolition of houses used by kidnappers

Edo state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole yesterday vowed to supervise the demolition of two houses used by suspected kidnappers in some parts of the State.

The 4-bedroom flat, located on 5, Osagie Street, at Ekabere Street, off old Benin-Sapele Road and a mansion in Oredo local government area of the state is slated for demolition before the end of the week.

The Governor gave the indication at the state headquarters of the Department Security Service (DSS), in Benin City, where a suspected four-man kidnap syndicate along with two other suspected criminals were paraded.

Oshiomhole commended the joint security operations of DSS and 4-Brigade Nigerian Army for the rescue operation of the abduction of three children and other victims.

He recalled the ordeal of a brother in-law to one of his Special Assistant, Mr. Gani Audi, shot in the eye during his encounter with the some of the suspects, with a caution on residents of the state to report such incidents to the relevant authorities.

“I have listened to the various narrations of the suspects, those properties that they have used for this heinous crimes will be demolished this week under my supervision…It is time for us to start implementing the law’’, he said.

State Director of DSS, Alhaji Bello-Tukur Bakori offered explanations on how the suspects were arrested at various locations in the state.

Bakori identified Sunday Okperamen, Joshua Igbinovia, Nkpedem Ibrahim (23) and Christian David (26) in connivance with one JK masterminded the kidnap a Medical Doctor attached to the university of Benin teaching hospital, a Proprietor of a popular hotel and three Children before they were arrested.

Two other suspects: ThankGod Itekpu, alleged Internet frauster and Michael Onyekachi, who was said to have defrauded three persons millions of Naira under the guise of procuring Turkish and German visa for them.

The kidnap suspects, who spoke on their alleged involvement, alleged that they were lured into the crime by JK, believed to be the leader of the gang.
