The resolution of the prolonged teachers’ strike in the Federal Capital Territory has triggered fresh political backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Abuja Original Inhabitants and Youths Empowerment Organisation (AOIYEO) praised the decisive intervention of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in ending the industrial action by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), describing it as a turning point for both governance and political confidence in the territory.
In a statement signed by its President, Commandant Isaac David, the group said the reopening of schools across the FCT has brought relief to thousands of families and restored stability to the education sector.
AOIYEO noted that beyond addressing the immediate crisis, the move has reinforced public trust in the Tinubu administration’s capacity to respond effectively to critical issues affecting citizens.
The group also highlighted the recent elevation of traditional rulers in the FCT as a strategic step that strengthens grassroots leadership and consolidates support among indigenous communities.
According to AOIYEO, these developments have positioned the administration favourably ahead of the 2027 general elections, with growing alignment from key stakeholders in the territory.
“We are fully mobilised to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and all candidates who share this vision,” the statement added.
The organisation urged residents to continue backing government policies, stressing that sustained support would ensure continued development and political stability in the FCT.
