Insecurity: Review your strategy, Dalhatu charge stakeholders

The Commissioner representing the FCT in the Public Complaint Commission,.Hon. Ezekiel Dalhatu Musa has ask the Security agencies and other stakeholders to restrategies the ways of handling emerging security treat that has envelop the resident of FCT in view of the current Kidnapping trend of individuals and families in most part of the Federal capital territory.
The Hon. Commissioner stated this yesterday during the world press conference in Abuja on the “incessant Kidnappings and dangerous Security breaches Across the FCT”, the media briefing is to make public know the magnitude of this scourge and to suggest possible options to end the increasing menace of insecurity in the Federal capital territory citing recent incidences.
“The Insecurity situation in the FCT has risen to an all time high that even the city center appears endangered as we speak, in what started like communal clashes amongst remote communities and herders has degenerated into full time business for miscreants, it is embarrassing alarming and demeaning of our corporate existence the Federal capital territory which is like the Washington DC in America is under siege by some handful of unknown gunmen, this Kidnapping activities that has surged in the FCT is threatening the peace and businesses across most especially in the last 2-3 Month making lives unbearable for Àbuja resident”, According to Dalhatu.
“My dear gentlemen of the pen profession am using this medium to draw the attention of the Honorable Minister of FCT and other relevant government agencies on the growing Kidnapping activities and the need to take active steps toward ending this problem, however as part of solution to this serious security issues we are suggesting to our dear Minister and other stakeholders the need to reform or restrategies on our approach as we recognize the effort of our security agencies. some of the way forward we canvass are the establishment of FCT Special Security Committee in collaboration with the area Council Chairmen, this special security committee will explore funding for Community policing through the Security Trust Fund, this will help the security agencies for an enhance operational vehicles and their allowancies. there is also the need for Grassroot Security Formation which has proving to be effective, such as Civilian Joint task Force, Vigilante and hunters groups which will also serve as the primary intelligence source as well as curtailing the activities of this miscreants, note no meaningful investment can strive in an atmosphere of insecurity.
