Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has reiterated his commitment to the development of the education sector in the state.
Governor Bago stated this when he received the Interim Report for the take-off of the Abdulkadir Kure University from the Pro-Chancellor of the Institution Prof. Muhammad Kuta Yahaya at the Government House Minna.
He commended the efforts of Prof. Kuta and described him as a man whose remarkable records speak volumes, hence the Government is also awaiting similar reports for the University of Agriculture Mokwa and that of Zungeru.
The Governor expressed confidence that with Prof. Kuta Yahaya as the Pro-Chancellor of the University, the institution will experience significant growth within the shortest time.
The Pro-Chancellor, Abdulkadir Kure University Minna, Prof. Muhammad Kuta Yahaya commended the state Governor for his efforts in speeding up the process for the realization of the University.
He disclosed that admissions into the University have already begun, adding that soon, the University which is now a Conventional University will offer Courses in all fields of endeavour to take advantage of global trends.
He said invitations have been sent to two world-renowned academics such as Prof. Toyin Falola and Prof. Charles Hopkins to tap from their vast knowledge and to make the Institution a global standard.
