Niger Govt to prioritize basic education

Niger state commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Doctor Hadiza Mohammed has concluded plans to ensure that degree certificate is made the minimum requirement qualification for teachers in secondary school in the state.
She made the disclosure during a post exco press briefing at the Government House Minna, saying there was the need for total revamping of the educational system in the state.
She also stressed that the state government will commence the Early Child Care Development Education (ECCDE) with the aim of restructuring community base teachers, to enable effective and efficient services delivery.
The commissioner further disclosed that the Niger state government is set to provide transportation, uniforms, and scholarships for students in the state.
