Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed readiness of his government in ensuring the safety and security of all corp members serving in the state.
Governor Fintiri gave the commitment in Yola, Tuesday, during the swearing in ceremony of the 1,336 corp members posted by the NYSC to serve in the state.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Prof.Keletapwa George Farauta,Fintiri called on the corp members to feel comfortable as Adamawa is now their second home free to settle in the state
Fintiri also advised the corp members to be security conscious as he urges them to take good advantage of their service year and learn skills that will make them potential employers of labour after their service year.
In his welcome address,the Director General of NYSC , Brigadier General Yushua Dogara warmly welcomed the prospective corp members urging them to participate fully in all activities lined up in the camp.
Represented by the Adamawa State NYSC Coordinator, Jingi Dennis stated that the orientation is the first cardinal program of NYSC and charged the corp members to be active and participatory in all activities in the camp which is meant for acquiring skills.
The State Chief Judge,Hon. Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman represented by Hon Justice Hellen Nuhu Hammanjoda administered the oath of allegiance to the Batch A stream 1 corps members.
Our Correspondent reported that, the NYSC sworn in a total of 1,336 corp members comprising of ; 773 males and 619 females and that,the swearing-in ceremony took place at the NYSC permanent orientation camp Damare,in Girei local government area of Adamawa state.
