The Adamawa State government has launched an empowerment cash support scheme, Fintiri Business Wallet with disbursement of N50,000 each to 10,000 beneficiaries.
Speaking at the official launching of the business Wallet in Yola, Friday, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri pledged to do all its takes to get the people out of poverty.
Fintiri said all the 10 skills acquisition centres in the state are in good shape for training of youths.
He announced that another set of 10,000 households would be considered for support, in the month of May, to purposely scale up their business ventures.
He added that the disbursement is for innovation and poverty alleviation intervention, urging the beneficiaries to use the cash grant judiciously.
Head of the Poverty and Wealth Creation Agency,PAWECA,Hajiya Aishatu Bello Bawa, explained that programme was designed to ensure self reliance.
Beawa added that the support is a transformative drive for catalyst and economic development among the youths in the state noting that the beneficiaries were drawn from the 226 political Ward’s in the state.
She applauded the commitment of Governor Fintiri’s administration in uplifting the fortunes of youths in the state.
Similarly, in his remarks, the Commissioner of Entrepreneurship development, Hon. James Iliya said the project was aimed at creating business atmosphere, where all hands are put on deck for eradication of poverty and employment Creation for all.
Iliya announced that people living with special needs have been captured as beneficiaries in the empowerment scheme, urging all and sundry to support and corporate with the government for more dividends of democracy.
