By Lateef Ibrahim, Abuja

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant in Ondo State, Mr Bosun Arebuwa has assured that there will be a total transformation from darkness to light, if he is given the mandate to govern the State at the November 16 gubernatorial election in the State.

Arebuwa, a chartered Accountant by profession, who gave the assurance after collecting his expression of interest and nomination forms at the PDP headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday, promised that the people of Ondo State will begin to enjoy the good things of life, which is what democracy is all about.

The gubernatorial aspirant, who is from Okitipupa in the Southern Senatorial district of Ondo State, declared that members of the PDP in the State have learnt their lesson and are now solidly united and determined to emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship election in the State.

His words, “In PDP, we have learnt our lessons and we are united, I can assure you we are united. And it’s only a fool that will be passing through what we are passing through, and not be united against their enemies.

“Those people have drawn down the resources of the state and made our people to suffer, so we are united.

“We are all aware that in Ondo state we are in thick darkness now, and what our own government is going to do is render light. And when the light comes, all the good things Ondo people have been missing, they will begin to enjoy it.

“Darkness won’t allow you to see anything good but when light comes, you will begin to see the beautiful things, when darkness disappears. So, that’s what we are going to do.

“So, there will be total transformation of darkness to light, and our people will begin to enjoy the good things of life. That’s what democracy is all about”, the aspirant said.

Arebuwa however said that the issue of consensus candidacy among the PDP aspirants is still on the table, contrary to claims in some quarters that it has collapsed

According to him, “Consensus is still ongoing, all we are saying is that we all need to unite to flush out the darkness.

“So, we are good to go now. We are going back to Ondo state, to begin the work and just like the theme of our programme which is “Imole de, Okunkun Parada” (Light has come, darkness must disappear).

Arebuwa promised to fully support whoever emerges as the party’s governorship candidate in the event that he is unable to do so.

His words, “I’ve always been in support of any candidate in PDP. Getting the ticket or not getting it does not stop me from supporting. it’s not a do or die affair.

“I am not desperate, but I am ready to serve our people, that’s my own. So, our goal is to win and restore Ondo state to PDP state. It’s not about me, that’s why you don’t see my poster everywhere, it’s about our people and our party”, he said.

He assured that youths and women will occupy a vintage position in his administration, if elected as the next Governor of the Sunshine State.
