Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State has confirmed the arrest of 5 suspects for rustling 48 cattle.
The Commandant, Joachim Okafor made this known yesterday in Minna.
He said the suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence which led the Agro Rangers Team on patrol across Tafa Division to intercept the rustled cattle from Kafuru in Katsina State through Sundu Kano- heading to Paukon Kore Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja.
The command Public Relations Officer, DSC Abubakar Rabiu Muti in a press statement in Minna, said the Agro rangers squad swung into action and intercepted the cattle.
According to him, the 5 suspects include;: Adamu Ibrahim 40 years, Adamu Hassan 50 years, Bature Isah 15years, Usman Ibrahim 30 years and a 45 years old Jamilu Ibrahim respectively.
The Niger State Commandant however appreciated the Nigeria Hunters Association in Niger State for their collaborations and intelligence sharing.
Okafor hinted that the suspects and the exhibits has been handed over to the Niger State Government through the Commissioner for Nomadic Affairs in the presence of the executive leaderships of Niger state Miyetti Allah.
The Miyetti Allah lauded the leadership of the NSCDC for the commissioning of the Agro Rangers Squad which has made notable achievements through prompt intervention mechanism by preventing clashes between farmers and herders.
