Kaduna tasks Parents to Immunize children under 5 for polio

Parents in Kaduna State have been tasked to ensure they make their children less than 5 years of age available for vaccination as the State commences another round of polio immunization campaigns.
The exercise was scheduled for 20-23 APRIL 2024.
The State Coordinator, Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio(JAP) Lawal Dogara disclosed in a statement.
JAP advised that immunization would enable the children to grow healthier as such parents should try and ensure they allow the vaccinators to attend to their wards.
He explained that all adequate arrangements had been made for the smooth conduct of the exercise by the State Government, Development partners, and other stakeholders.
He further explained that during the exercise a lot of interventions will be provided such as health camps, especially in the high-risk areas.
Dogara commended the Traditional Rulers and Religion Leaders for their effort and urged them to put in more effort for the success of the exercise.
He is appealed to the ad-hoc staff engaged for the conduct of Polio immunization to ensure all eligible children are reached for the progress of the exercise and would be conducted through House-to-House visits, on the streets and markets, motor parks among others.
