From: Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

The Chairman of an All Progressive Congress (APC,) Support Group, Engr. Kailani Muhammad has said that there is no fuel scarcity in Nigeria, adding that the scarcity was caused by greedy persons with selfish interests.
He asserted this during a press conference with journalists in Kaduna while citing fuel hoarding by distributors as a major cause of the scarcity.
As proof of his statement, Engr. Kailani recalled that the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kolo Kyari, had earlier revealed that there are enough petroleum products to service Nigeria for a long time to come.
He also revealed his discovery during an investigation, that some Fuel Stations don’t sell fuel but distribute it to black market traders who sell for a higher price in jerricans.
Given the above, the Chairman urged the State and Federal governments to set up a price control board so that those who inflate the prices of goods and services can be punished when caught.
Engr. also advised the government to assign task forces who will visit fuel stations to fish out those who are hoarding petroleum products and inflating the price of fuel.
While encouraging Nigerians to believe and support the good plans of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Nigeria, He encouraged them to support the government by reporting illegal activities so that evildoers can be punished.
“Another worrisome development is the fake fuel scarcity put in place by petroleum products marketers. They have devised a cunning strategy to defraud and inflict hardship on the citizenry, by hoarding petroleum products, and damned the consequences on the citizenry.”
