Niger State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Zonal Chairman Niger North, Yahaya Ability has called on the party stakeholders in the country to zone the national chairmanship of the party to north central and Niger state for fairness, equity and justice.
Ability made this known while speaking to journalists in Minna, saying that Niger state is the only state in the north central that has never had a shot at the exalted position hence the state should be given the opportunity to serve in that capacity.
He stated that the state has credible, energetic, integrity, experienced and competent individuals that can make the party proud, adding that the state has made a lot of sacrifices for the party in the past years and deserve for the consideration to lead the party.
The state Zonal Chairman appealed to the 14 governors from the PDP led its forum chairman and governor of Bauchi State, Abdulkadir Bala Mohammed to use his good offices to ensure a fair and just zoning formula established by the party in the country.
Ability who called on the other zones to give their support and endorse Niger state, however, explained that Kogi, Kwara, Plateau, Benue states had served in that capacity leaving Niger state for too long.
