Four Zamfara ex-Governors to proffer solutions for lasting peace

Four former Governors of Zamfara State have met and deliberated on finding ways to ensure lasting peace in the state.
The Ex-Governors in the meeting included Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima, Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
In a statement by the State Publicity Secretary of the APC which was made available to newsmen in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, the closed door meeting was held to discuss ways to improve the security situation of the state, which has continued to deteriorate.
The former leaders who met at the Minister’s residence in Abuja widely focused on security situation in general with a view to finding a lasting solution to the problems and improve socio-economic growth, education and health care development in the state.
They maintained that in discussing security matters, all other concerns and differences, especially political, must set aside for the greater betterment of the people.
The meeting also discussed vividly on how to resolve misunderstandings that rock parts of the APC in the state with a view to maintain oneness.
