The National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has promised to rebuild the five-daily prayer mosque that was attacked in Kano recently.
PEOPLES DAILY reports that on Wednesday, May 18, one Shafi’u Abubakar, set the mosque on fire while worshippers were performing Subh (early morning) prayer at Gadan Village, Gezawa Local Government area.
So far, 18 of the victims have died while seven are still receiving treatment in Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.
In this light, Ganduje had sent a powerful delegation, led by the state’s APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas on sympathy visit to the victims and pay condolence to the family of the deceaseds in the village.
The former governor, through Abbas, donated N50,000 to each of the remaining seven victims on admission.
From there, the delegation, comprising top officials Ganduje’s associates, proceeded to Gezawa to condole with the families of the deceased ones.
On reaching there, after praying for the repose of the souls of the dead victims, and quick recovery of the injured ones, Abbas announced that Ganduje had promised to rebuild the charred mosque.
He also announced the donation of the sum of N5 million and 50 bags of rice to the families of the deceased ones by Ganduje.
It was observed that since the attack, which occurred more than a week ago, the town had become mecca of sympathizers from different places In the country.
