Chairman, Senate Committee on Labour and Productivity, Senator Wilson Asinobi Ake (APC member representing Rivers-West), has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not have the capacity to plant people who will destabilize the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ake was speaking against the backdrop that some aggrieved APC members who were not satisfied with the outcome of the convention that elected Chief Odigie Oyegun as chairman were being sponsored by PDP to destabilize the APC.

The senator said the elections was conducted transparently and that the convention proved that the APC has come to stay as the strongest opposition party in Africa.

Ake said initially, it was as if the convention would not hold but it has become history today with the emergence of a new chairman who will ensure victory for the party at all levels. “I can tell you that what the people want now is change and our party, APC, is ready to bring in changes that would be meaningful to the people” he boasted.

Commenting on the convention, Ake said “Nobody believed it would be possible for the convention to hold, but today, it is possible and it is happening; it has become a reality.

He also said that there was no party that did not have its internal problems, but according to him, “that does not mean people should dump the party for another. For those who are not satisfied with the outcome of the election, they should leave if they so wish; but that does not mean APC has failed; rather, it will continue to grow stronger and stronger”.
