As Nigerians all over celebrate Democracy Day, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has called on Nigerians to maintain their hope for a renewed Nigeria and better government.
This was contained in a statement signed by the President General of the forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, and made available to the media in Kaduna, yesterday.
The statement stated that the Forum concluded a series of consultations and that the perceived unity is very superficial and skin deep only to sustain the bureaucracy of exploitation of the Nigerian populace.
The President noted that Nigerians must continue to serve faithfully at all times whether good or bad as only with collective efforts can the desired change be achieved.
While congratulating Nigerians for the celebration of Democracy Day, Mr Shettima harped on the need to reflect on the gains of democratic processes towards sustaining and making the Nation better.
“Compatriots, the opportunity beckons as in the immortal words of Williams Shakespeare,’ there is a tide in the affairs of men which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat and we must take the current when it serves or lose our venture’.
