Jigawa to clear outstanding court cases in 2 yrs – says Attorney general

The Jigawa state Attorney general and commissioner of Justice, Barr. Abdulkadir Bello Fanini has promised to do all his best to clears all the outstanding court cases within two years.
The commissioner dropped the hint when the members of Observatory platform including Media and Civil Society Organizations paid a familiarization visit and submission of communique to him on Thursday at his office new Secretariat Dutse.
He explained that, the present administration under the leadership of governor Malam Umar Namadi gives priority to administration of criminal justice law as development can achieve only by ensuring peace and stability through effective implementation of Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL)
While speaking on delay in legal advice, Fanini said, with support from the governor we plan to clear all the awaiting trials cases within next two years and ensure that prosecution is carried as defined by ACJL.
“We already identified the challenges and put all the necessary machineries to address it as we got support and approval from the governor.
“I charged you (Observatory platform) to feel free and be monitoring our activities, so as to ensure it done within the expected time.
“We mapped out the strategies to clear all the outstanding bad luck, so all the outstanding trial cases will be cleared within two to two and half years so that to focus on current cases” , he said.
The Attorney general also assured more support and cooperation to Observatory group, adding that his door is open for advice, clarification to the members of the platform for ensuring full implementation and compliance of ACJL in the state.
