The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reaffirmed its commitment towards providing necessary support for religious activities especially routine pilgrimages, in line with the renew hope agenda of the present administration.
It also reassured to sustain to improve the welfare of the FCT residents both at home or outside the shores of the country.
FCT Minister of State, DR. Mariya Mahmoud asserted this, after receiving a plague of appreciation from the team that led the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-MPWB) to this year’s Hajj operation, which was presented to the Administration as an appreciation in recognition of its mutual relationship with Saudi-based Hajj managers’ commitment, and excellent performance.
Mahmoud expressed excitement over FCT-MPWB’s performance during the just concluded hajj exercise that made the Muassasa in charge of Pilgrims from non Arabs speaking countries to recognize and appreciate them.
She added that the honour would go a long way in encouraging the administration to do more in enhancing the provision of all support for religious activities.
She noted that the administration under the leadership of FCT minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike and herself have been executing impactful projects since assumption of office to ensure realisation of a befitting capital city.
Earlier, while resenting the plague of honour to the minister, the Director of the Board, Abubakar Adamu Evuti explained that it was received in Saudi Arabia at a special 2024 hajj stakeholders’ gathering, organised by the Tawafah company for Pilgrims of African, Non-Arab countries, popularly known as Mu’assasa.
He informed the Minister that the event was attended by dignitaries in Nigeria which include The Chairman/ CEO National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alh Jalal Arabi, states executives and other major stakeholders in Hajj matters from Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
He described the award as an exciting development in Hajj administration in the the Nigerian capital city, Abuja.
Meanwhile, about 3,000 pilgrims who participated in the 2024 Hajj have since returned home, after exercise.
