Jigawa govt disburses 1.4m SMC, shifts ITNs distribution to 17th August

The Jigawa state government in collaboration with Malaria Consortium said, over 1.4 million Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) was distributed across the state.
This was disclosed by the Director Public Health, state Ministry of health Dr Mahmud Abdulwahab during the 1st review meeting held on Wednesday at new Secretariat Dutse.
He explained that, the exercise recorded huge success as according to him, the distribution rated above 90 percent disbursement of the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention to the target beneficiaries.
The Director also said, the distribution of Interested Treated Nets which was schedule to commence on 9th August,2024, is now shifted to 17th August, 2024.
He explained that, the adjustment of date is due to the nationwide protest that led to the breaking of some stores by protesters in two local government of Birnin Kudu and Babura and carried away the ITNs.
