The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (CCSON) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the new phase of appointment amidst nationwide protests, in the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry.
In a statement jointly signed by the Deputy National Chairman and Spokesperson of the coalition, Comrade Auwal Mohammed and Joy Elizabeth on Wednesday, described the seven appointments made by President Tinubu under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, as timely.
The group stated that the appointment is apt, adding that the move is a clear indication that the President is committed to alleviating the plight of the citizenry with the determination to take Nigeria to the promised land.
Comrade Auwal further noted that the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry is a very sensitive agency of government that would offer livelihood support to all and sundry and in the long run, get the dividends of democracy to every member of the Nigerian society.
The group urged President Tinubu to consider the CEO of QAT Foundation, Hajiya Adenike Tejuosho for the position of Humanitarian Affairs Minister because of her track record of intervention in the ongoing nationwide protests, ” which is outstanding and therefore should be given the full opportunity in the president Tinubu’s led administration to enable her contribute her quota to national development.”
