Versity don denies report accusing NASS of demanding bribe

Professor Hassan Ibrahim of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has denied a media report circulating on media platforms accusing him of indicting National Assembly members of demanding bribes from universities during oversight functions.
Professor Ibrahim in a statement he issued in Minna titled: Re-NASS Members Demand Bribe from universities for oversight while he was reacting to a media report where he was mis-quoted.
The don explained that such statement did not emanate from him, calling on journalists to cross check their facts before going public.
He said in the paper presentation title: ‘underscored the importance of official stewardship in the effective utilization of resources’, urged Nigerian Universities commission to adopt innovative strategies to tackle the financial management challenges plaguing the Nigerian University System.
Professor Ibrahim further said, in his presentation stressed the importance of adhering to institutional rules and prioritizing financial needs to ensure judicious use of limited resources within the university system.
