The management of Federal College of Education Yola has concluded plans to host this year’s (2024) Nigerian Colleges of Education Games Association (NICEGA) in Adamawa state.
Provost of the College,Professor Muhammad Usman Degereji disclosed the development at a press conference in Yola, stressing that over twenty (20) colleges have indicated interests to participate as bonafide members of the Association.
Degereji explained that the participating colleges would take part in different sporting activities with the aim of enhancing unity,physical and psychological fitness to face their studies respectively.
He noted that the college is holding a tripartite events including 15th convocation ceremony,50th anniversary celebration of the college and the NICEGA games which commences on the 1st November.2024, adding that 11 personalities will be honored for their meritorious services to their mother land.
According to him, the events will boost students welfare, academic excellence and enhance community service.
Those listed for posthumous awards includes; late Ahmed Joda, Late Ahmadu Ribadu,first Nigerian defense minister,late professor Gidado Tahir,late Musa Waziri and late Alhaji Iya Abbas.
