Coalition of Professional people Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) have accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of discrimination following his recent appointments to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
They argued that the appointments neglected the voices and needs of PLWDs, particularly in the light of their previous call for the inclusion of a female candidate in the ministry.
The group’s representative and Convener, Coalition of Professional PLWDs Barrister Ismaila Sani Dabai, expressed deep disappointment over the selection of two male candidates from the same state for key leadership roles, stating that such decisions undermine the principles of inclusivity and equity essential for effective governance.
They emphasized that being disabled does not equate to being voiceless, and they demand recognition and respect for their contributions to society.
