NSCDC FCT partners Bwari Area Council to improve security

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olusola Odumosu PhD while on a working visit to the Bwari Area Council stressed the need to partner with the Area Council administration to tackle insecurity in the Area Council.
While addressing the management of the Area Council led by the Hon Chairman, Hon. John S. Gabaya, the Commandant stressed the commitment of the Corps to the safety and security of all residents of Bwari.
He told the Chairman and his management staff that “NSCDC FCT Command is poised to provide the necessary support, from enhanced intelligence sharing to the deployment of additional personnel where needed. We are dedicated to working closely with the Area Council to ensure that our communities remain peaceful and safe”.
The FCT Command helmsman condemned the spate of kidnappings that occurred in Bwari Area Council at the close of 2023 and early 2024 while commending security agencies for rising to the challenge and ensuring that the situation is arrested.
“While we are aware that there are still pockets of kidnappings and other criminal activities within the Bwari Area Council, we want to assure all residents that we will continue to partner with the Area Council and other security agencies until all security concerns are totally decimated”, he said.
Dr Odumosu also called on the residents of Bwari Area Council to share credible and verifiable intelligence with the Corps as the perpetrators of these heinous crimes live among them. He assures them that such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
In his response Hon. Gabaya expressed his appreciation for the proactive efforts of the Corps, while recognizing the essential role that partnership plays in fostering a secure environment. He assured the Commandant of his total support.
Dr Odumosu also visited Kawu and Igu, two communities in Bwari that are prone to kidnapping to monitor first hand the security situation of these communities.
