Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani has donated 3000 cartons containing different food items to various orphanages across the state to mitigate the current hardships in the country.
Presenting the items on behalf of the state government yesterday, the State Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, said the gesture was a way of identifying with the children, especially those in the various orphanages in the State.
According to her, the food items were received from the Federal Government through the Bank of Industry (BOI) in collaboration with the state government.
Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe explained that the items are for the orphanages in the state to relieve them of the current situation in the country.
She warned the manager of the various orphanages who benefited from the distribution to ensure that the food items were given to the orphans in their orphanages.
“We felt that the food items should be donated to orphanage homes and as you know, We have about 81,000 registered orphanages in Kaduna.”
