NPFL relegation battle: Nasarawa United issued three-match ultimatum to coaches, players

Abuja – The Management of Nasarawa United Football Club, on Tuesday, held a crucial meeting with coaches and players of the Club in Lafia to address the team’s alarming decline in performance.
The gathering, chaired by the Club’s Chairman, Mr. Solomon Babanjah, emphasized the imperative need for drastic improvement.
Among the issues discussed were the team’s dismal record of five losses, three draws and three wins in eleven games of the ongoing 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign, tactical deficiencies, players’ motivation, injuries and fitness.
According to Babanjah, “We are not satisfied with the way things are going, and as a Management, we can’t fold our arms and watch the team slide down the mucky road.
“Immediate improvement is non-negotiable.
“We expect tangle results within our next three matches. Failure to deliver will necessitate drastic measures.
Other Management Members who lent their voices tasked the Technical Crew to reassess their strategies and player positioning.
They also urged the players to rediscover their competitive edge, while instructing the Medical staff to intensify injury rehabilitation and fitness programmes.
Technical Director, Kabir Dogo, apologized on behalf of the Coaching Staff, assuring the Management, supporters and fans of the Club of an imminent turnaround.
“We regret the inconveniences our recent performances have caused the State.
“However, we will overhaul our tactics, enhance player motivation, and fortify our defence, going forward”, Dogo assured.
Captain, King Osanga (MON), pledged the team’s commitment in subsequent games.
“We acknowledge our shortcomings and the expectations on our shoulders as ambassadors of the State.
“We have made up our minds to regain our winning momentum.”
The Management of the Club equally held similar meeting with the Team’s Supporters’ Club headed by Abdulsalam Abubakar, urging them to work in unison in their support to the team to achieve success.

Currently placed 17th on the League log with twelve points from eleven matches, the Solid Miners have left behind the disappointment of last weekend 0-1 home loss to Kwara United, and are in high spirits in their next game against Akwa United on Saturday, 16th November, 2024, at the God’sWill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, followed by another North-Central derby clash versus Plateau United on match-day 13, a week later, at the New Jos International Stadium.
