The event was graced by the NSE National President, Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, who was represented by Engineer Innocent Chinasokwu Okolie.
In her address, Oguntala highlighted the importance of leadership in driving progress within the engineering profession and commended the Abuja Branch for its seamless election process.
“I urge every member of the NSE Abuja Branch to extend their support to the newly inaugurated team,” Oguntala said.
“We must prioritize capacity building and community engineering to ensure our members are equipped to tackle challenges and make meaningful impacts.”
Outgoing Chairman Engineer Ben Okoh Osy described the leadership transition as a milestone in the branch’s history.
Reflecting on his tenure, Osy expressed pride in the achievements of the branch, which he described as the “number one branch of the NSE” in terms of excellence, resilience, and accomplishments.
“To my successor and the new Executive Committee, I offer my unflinching support and encouragement,” Osy said.
“Lead with confidence and harness the boundless potential of this prestigious branch.”
In his inaugural speech, Engineer Ahmed Kutigi pledged to uphold the branch’s ideals of integrity and professionalism while prioritizing member benefits.
“We will emphasize member engagement through training and knowledge transfer to ensure cutting-edge leadership,” Kutigi said.
“Our goal is to guarantee better jobs and placements for our members by fostering collaborations with public and private sector stakeholders.”
Kutigi outlined plans for the branch, including community engineering programs led by Engineer Julius and professional development initiatives.
The branch will also focus on supporting young engineers through training opportunities for university graduates and those awaiting postings.
“Our strategy will build upon existing knowledge and methodologies while recognizing the valuable contributions of past executives,” Kutigi said.
The inauguration marks a new chapter for the NSE Abuja Branch, with members hopeful for continued progress under the leadership of Engineer Kutigi and his team.
