NEDC vows to complete multi-purpose hall project at GGUC Damaturu

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has reiterated zeal to complete the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art multipurpose hall/auditorium at the Government Girls Unity College (GGUC) Damaturu, in Yobe state, as it is part of it’s efforts to boost education and development in the region.

During an inspection tour of the facility, the Executive Director Administration and Finance, Dr. Abubakar Garba Iliya, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far.

Iliya urged the contractor to intensify efforts to meet the project deadline.

The NEDC multipurpose hall/auditorium project is part of the commission’s broader initiatives to promote education, science, and technology in the North East region.

He said: “As a regional development agency, the NEDC is committed to achieving peace, progress, and development across the six states in the region.

“In the education sector alone, the commission has embarked on a massive educational infrastructural development project, including the construction and furnishing of NEDC Mega schools, classrooms, academic blocks, supply of instructional materials, as well as training and retraining of teachers and educators.”

Dr. Iliya, who was accompanied by NEDC Yobe State Coordinator Prof. Ali Ibrahim Abbas, the Project’s Consultant, and other staff of the Commission, assured that the NEDC is committed to executing key projects efficiently and effectively, with a focus on delivering tangible benefits to the people of the region.
