CAN President cautions military over leakage of information

National President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has urged the Nigerian military to be careful in appointing those who are saddled with manning sensitive departments like intelligence and logistics, to avoid leakage of vital information to the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

Pastor Oritsejafor, who gave this advice at the quarterly National Executive meeting of the association, held in Makurdi, the Benue state capital yesterday, lauded the military and other security agencies for their efforts at tackling the menace but further called on them to look inward and fish out those who are sympathetic with Boko Haram amongst them.

He equally appealed to Muslim clerics, Muslim traditional rulers and all political leaders of the Islamic faith to come together and address the issue of Boko Haram insurgency frontally and with sincerity.

“There are still Muslim clerics that these people listen to, let these people engage them with a superior arguments to dissuade them from their practice. Let the Muslim leaders intervene”

Governor Gabriel Suswam who was represented at the ceremony by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG Dr. David Salifu stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to address the country’s security problem.
