The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje on Wednesday received Sen. Ned Nwoko into the party.
The event which took place at the National Secretariat of the party saw the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Management, Barr. Festus Keyamo present Nwoko who represents Delta North to Ganduje and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
Speaking at the occasion, Ganduje who was visibly excited said the coming of the senator is significant because he is one of the biggest political figures in Delta State.
“When you came to my house and informed me that big fish, whale, and shark put together will be coming into our party, I was so delighted, I was so happy. And I, in fact, I started dreaming on this day, Wednesday.
“And luckily enough, some few hours ago, I was informed, that you would be coming. And I even told some people to watch what was happening in the campus, the summit, because you told me you declare there. So we are happy to receive you.
“You are most welcome, Distinguished Senator, Chief, Mayor Mboku. You are most welcome to our great party. There’s no doubt our great party is the most nationalistic party, the party that has spread from all over the country.
“Our party believes in national integration. Our party believes in national unity. Our party believes in progress and providing prosperity to the people of Nigeria”.
Ganduje further said the administration of President Bola Tinubu is doing much to rebound the economy adding that in a very short time, Nigerians will begin feel the positive effect of the economic reforms.
“There’s no doubt our leader, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a focused leader, is a visionary leader. Immediately he came, he knew where to start, he knew what to do, and he introduced some reforms, even though they are painful, but they are unavoidable reforms. If you want Nigeria to progress, there is no doubt you have to undertake such reforms.
“Oil production has increased. Oil refineries are working. Security is improving. So the country is working. This is our party. We believe in internal democracy.
“When you say our party is peaceful, it is peaceful because we believe in internal democracy. And we know our chapter in Delta will also implement internal democracy. We request you, the stakeholders, to come together to cooperate, because we had two senators before, two out of three, having two fathers in the state, and now we have three senators, three over three”.
The former governor of Kano state also charged the senators to know that they are now the leaders of the party in their respective zones; hence the need for them to work hard to develop their areas.
“If every senator will go back to his constituency and work very hard, you know the outcome. As we promised, we will take over Delta State. We assure you of maximum cooperation.
“You go back to your State. You organize yourself. You invite us for a mega rally. You come for the mega rally.
“What we are looking forward is highly organized party structure in that state, composed of men and women, especially young men who will go from house to house to show that APC dominates almost everywhere”.
Earlier in his remarks, Sen. Nwoko said he decided to join the APC because of the quality administration of President Tinubu which he said is gradually pulling the country out of poverty.
