The Axis of Hope Initiative has fulfilled its pledge to sponsor the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) fees for 50 indigent students at Government Secondary School, Phase 4, Kubwa, Abuja.

The organization made the commitment during its visit to the school in October 2024, while celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child. Returning to honour its promise, the initiative reaffirmed its dedication to empowering young girls through education.

Speaking at the event, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, Founder of Axis of Hope Initiative, emphasized the organization’s mission to support girls’ education and protect their fundamental rights.

“We had a pleasant time with the management and students of this great school last October and have returned to fulfill the promise we made,” Mgbudem said.

“Girls worldwide face vulnerabilities such as marginalization, molestation, and rape. We are here to change this narrative, transform vulnerabilities into strength, and ensure every girl has access to quality education.”

He encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, describing education as a powerful tool for success.

“Knowledge is power and a pathway to greatness. The fact that you are studying here is a testament to your resilience and ability to fulfill your destinies. Our joy is to see you become great in this country and beyond,” he added.

Mgbudem assured the students that the Axis of Hope Initiative would continue to support them in their academic pursuits.

“As part of this institution, we are committed to assisting students in any way possible. Education is the right of every child, and we are delighted to contribute to their quest for knowledge.”

The Principal of Government Secondary School, Kolawole Oseh, expressed gratitude to the organization for its generous support and urged other groups and individuals to emulate the gesture.
