The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has handed over 59 rescued kidnapping victims to the Kaduna State Government.

The hanging over was made at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja’s Three Arms Zone hours ago.

Ribadu revealed that the rescue operation was a result of a joint effort by all security agencies, spearheaded by the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna. He emphasized that the coordinated operations were carried out in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to intensify efforts to free kidnapped victims.

Speaking during the handover, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Gold Chibuisi, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to working closely with the NSA in executing the presidential directive to ensure the victims’ safe return.

Similarly, the Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre, Major General Garba Laka, disclosed that some of the victims had been held captive for as long as four months. He added that they were abducted from different parts of Kaduna, and sustained military pressure forced the kidnappers to abandon them.

The Kaduna State Government is expected to facilitate their reintegration and provide necessary support to aid their recovery.
