Tears, relief and gratitude filled the air as Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, bid an emotional farewell to 59 kidnap victims recently freed from captivity.
The event, held in Kaduna hours ago, was both a moment of celebration and reflection as the governor reassured the victims of his administration’s support in rebuilding their shattered lives.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Sani issued a stern warning against individuals attempting to politicize Kaduna’s security challenges for political gain.
“No matter how highly-placed, anyone mixing our security concerns with their self-serving political agenda on social media is acting irresponsibly. Such behavior is totally unacceptable,” he declared.
Governor Sani announced that the state government would provide support to the freed citizens to help them regain their livelihoods.
“We will ensure you continue your trades and become financially self-dependent. This administration will not abandon you,” he assured.
Restating his commitment to sustaining security efforts across the state, Governor Sani pointed to successes in Birnin Gwari and other areas where people previously lived in fear.
“We have restored normalcy in places where families once found it difficult to sleep at home. Markets closed for a decade have now been opened. Travelling from Kaduna to Abuja that was once a nightmare is no longer so. We are hopeful one day, we would have reason to be safe and happy in Kaduna. We will not relent in securing every inch of Kaduna State,” he emphasized.
He commended the Office of the National Security Adviser for collaborating with the Kaduna State Government in reclaiming besieged communities and securing the release of kidnapped persons.
“This partnership is yielding results, and we will continue working together until the menace of kidnapping is eventually reduced to the barest minimum” he affirmed.
He also commended the Commissioner of the State’s Ministry for Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu for giving her best shot to the duty of catering for the freed victims on behalf of the government.
The event marked another milestone in Kaduna’s ongoing fight against insecurity, as Governor Uba Sani reaffirmed his administration’s determination to restore lasting peace across the state.
