An Islamic scholar, Dr. Muhammad Yahaya Muja, has said it is a wrong believe to attribute every terrorist act to Islam, because Islam is against the wanton destruction of life and properties as being perpetrated by some groups both in Nigeria and outside the country on the wrong notion that they are fighting Allah’s course.
Dr. Muja, stated this in a lecture he delivered yesterday at the 2014 Ramadan lecture organized by Nasrul Lahi-L-Fatih Society of Nigeria, (NASFAT), Kaduna branch.
According to the cleric, it is unfortunate that every attack or killing is quickly attributed to Islam jihadist, whereas Islam in itself condemns such gruesome murder of innocent lives under any auspices.
“It is now time for us as Muslims to let the world know that the destruction going around across the world today has either some political or economy connection.
“We as Muslims know that it is the Sunnah of the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to always love our neighbours because Islam itself is a religion of peace and you cannot be preaching peace amidst rancur.” he said.
On the way forward, Dr. Muhammad called on the Mualim Ummah the Remaining 15days to pray for mercy of Allah upon themselves and their families and intercede for Nigeria for end of the insecurity bedeviling the nation.
In his own remark, the Director General, Media and Publicity to Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, called on Nigerians and residents of Kaduna in particular to embrace the principles of peaceful co-existence.
