Zamfara: ZSUBEB ,UNICEF to enhance school mgt capacities

In a significant step towards improving educational standards in Zamfara State, the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) in collaboration with the United Nations  Children’s Fund (UNICEF), organized a comprehensive training session for School-Based Management Committees (SBMC) and Center-Based Management Committees (CBMC) on effective utilization of grants for schools.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of ZSUBEB, Professor Nasir Garba Anka, commended UNICEF for its unwavering support for education in the state, emphasizing the importance of using the allocated funds according to the proposed plans and urged the SBMC and CBMC members to justify the trust placed in them.

Professor Anka firmly stated that the board would not tolerate any mismanagement of the funds, underscoring the significance of the training they were attending.

He further reiterated the board’s commitment to fostering collaborations with any organization dedicated to advancing education in Zamfara State.

He disclosed that, the sector is currently under a State of Emergency, as declared by Governor Lawal, and highlighted the noticeable progress being made in this regard. He urged participants to pay close attention during the training, as it would play a crucial role in their understanding and execution of grant management.

A focal person from UNICEF, Isa Suleiman Jangebe, has announced that ten Integrated Qur’anic Schools and five public primary schools would benefit from UNICEF’s support, noting that all Chairpersons and Secretaries of the schools would receive valuable training to enhance their administrative capabilities.
