Acting governor dissolves Nyako’s cabinet

The Adamawa state Acting Governor, Hon. Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri has dissolved the cabinet of the former Governor Murtala Hammanyero Nyako yesterday.

The development was contained in a press statement, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur which indicated the sacking of all political appointees of the former Gov. Nyako led Administration.

The statement said “following the resignation of the Deputy Governor and the impeachment of former Governor Murtala Nyako by the State Assembly on the 15\07\2014 all political appointees (Commissioners, Special Adviser, Principal Assistants and Special Assistants) are hereby relieved off their appointments as directed by the Acting Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.”

The statement directed the sacked government functionaries to hand over all government properties in their custody to their respective Permanent secretaries and other appropriate officers within government establishment.

In a relative development, the acting governor has also scrapped of the Special Projects and Programmes Unit (SPPU) under Government House, created by former Governor Murtala Nyako.

This was contained in a press release signed by Solomon Kumangar Director Press and Public Affairs, Government House Yola.

The acting Governor directed the Head of Service to retrieve all government properties in custody of the Unit with immediate effect.
