Stakeholders decry low participation of women, PWDs in politics

Te stakeholders in Jigawa brainstorm on the challenges hindered women, People’s with Disabilities and other marginalised groups from participating in politics and other political issues.

The stakeholders also urged for the full implementation of Electoral Accountability, Gender Equity and Social Inclusion in Nigeria for better women participation in politics.

The call was made during a stakeholders meeting on electoral accountability, gender equity and Social Inclusion in Nigeria.

The event was organised by Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA) in collaboration with Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) supported by MacArthur foundation.

Speaking during the meeting, the head of election and governance project at CITAD, comrade Ali Sabo said, the meeting highlited the importance of Inclusivity in Nigerian politics.
