Kaduna state governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has commended the leadership of Nasrul Lahi-L-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) for its role in upholding the Islamic religion and culture among Muslims in the country.

The governor stated this at the annual Ramadan lecture, held by the organisation in Kaduna recently.

He was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Religious Affairs, (Islamic Matters)  Kaduna state, Alhaji Abdulrahman Mahmud charged Muslims to live a life worthy of emulation as enjoined by Allah in the holy Quran and Hadith.

“It is time for us to correct all wrong doings and go back to the teachings of Allah. This is the best way to ensure peace and peaceful co-existence in Kaduna state and the nation at large. There is need to unite. We should try to avoid what happened in 2011 election because nobody wants to see a repeat of such ugly incidence.” He appealed “We commend NASFAT for continual preaching peaceful co-existence, emphasizing the need for Muslims to make an inward reflection on their activities by emulating the life style of the holy Prophet,” Alhaji Mahmud stated.

According to Dr. Yahaya, “Strong iman and uprightness should result in attitudinal change and be reflected in our activities, as Muslims. We should imbibe the belief that Allah can test us through our positions or wealth.

“Islam is a religion of peace and it is one of the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) to always love our neighbors as ourselves,” he said.

Earlier, the Chairman Kaduna NASFAT, Alhaji Waheed Adepoju Dangoje said NASFAT is intensifying its effort towards entrenching peaceful co-existing amongst Muslims and non-Muslims in order to correct the misconception that Islam is against any form of friendliness with the non-Muslims.
