YSEC: CITAD boosts 80 Jigawa Youths with entreprenuerial Skills

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) with sponsorship from British Council and Technical support from Kingtrust International has trained 80 Jigawa young people on entrepreneurship under Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge (YSEC).

Speaking to news men during the training at MDI Dutse, the CITAD Senior program officer comrade Isah Garba said, the training aimed at job creation to Nigerian youth for sustainable development.

Comrade Garba explained that, the primary contributors to Youth unemployment in Nigeria include inadequate skills, training, incomplete formal education, and a lack of informal skills essential for securing employment or embarking on entrepreneurial ventures.

According to him, to address these barriers, Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), launched the Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge (YSEC) Programme in Jigawa State, Nigeria.

“This initiative is being funded by the British Council, implemented in technical partnership with King’s Trust International and delivered by Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD)”, he said.

He maintained that, the Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge is part of the British Council’s Youth Connect global programme, which aims to provide positive pathways for young people through entrepreneurship, employability, and active citizenship.
