Niger govt, Dantata/Sawoe sign N23.9bn Minna-Bida road contract

The long awaited Minna to Bida road which has been in dear need of attention for reconstruction has been put to rest as the Niger State government and a private construction firm, Dantata and Sawoe have signed a N23.9 billion naira contract for the construction the road.
Signing the contract on behalf of the Niger State government, Commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development, Engineer Ibrahim Mohammed Panti said the state government will continue to do more in the provision of social amenities for the citizens.
Engineer Panti reiterated that as soon as the contractor receives mobilization fee, the work on the project will commence within the next one week.
According to him, the road project will be completed within the next eighteen months which will surely bring succour and relief to motorists plying the road
In his remarks after signing the contract on behalf of the company, Mr Udo Heidschwtev reassured that they will deliver good and quality service to the state.
He however, said the road project would help to provide employment to some unemployed youths in the area.
It was reliably gathered that the road has become a dead trip for several years now for motorist plying the route before the final award of contract for its reconstruction.
