Gov Alia expresses confidence in new APC Chairman

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has said that the new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda possess the requisite qualities to take the party to heights.

The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Kula Tersoo on Thursday in Makurdi, described Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as a distinguished academic and a visionary leader, saying he has no doubt in the ability of the Plateau State born scholar and politician to succeed in taking the party to more enviable heights.

Alia cites the new Chairman’s intellect, brilliance, expertise, integrity and his unwavering commitment to excellence, as some of the qualities that will draw more admiration and attract more support and love for the ruling All Progressives Congress across the country.

Prof Nentawe was unaminously elected by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Presidential Villa, as the party’s new National Chairman on Thursday, July 24th, 2025

The immediate past Minister of Humanitarian Affairs,  replaces Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned in June, 2025, over personal and health reasons.
